Ethnobotany of the Ficus Benglensis Authored by  Teena Agrawal Plants are the reservoirs of the many kinds of the metabolites of the various significance, they are used by the civilization from the remote past. Traditional medicines are the medicines which are used by the communities for the treatment of the various kinds of the diseases. They are the resultant of the various civilization experiences which are living in the vicinity of the nature from the long time. WHO promotes the strategy for the saving of the plants and the other TM and the ACM for the primary health care of the peoples. In this review articles we are presenting some of the aspects of the tree entitled as the Ficus bengalensis of the Moraceae family. The plant is widely distributed in the India as well as the other part of the world. In the Hindu religion the tree is worshipped and they are used in many days for the ethical purposes. Stability Indicating Rp-HPLC Method for Simultaneous Estimation of Ceftazidime Pentahydrate and its Impurity Product Pyridine in Powder Used for Making Solution in Vial for 1M & IV Injections Authored by  MEM Hassouna A new, sensitive, precise, simple, and stability indicating RP-HPLC method is developed and validated for simultaneous estimation of Ceftazidime pentahydrate(CFZ) and its impurity product Pyridine(PY) in powder which is used for making solution in vial for intramuscular (IM) & intravenous (IV) injections. The RP-HPLC method is performed on the Atlantis dc18 column (150 mm X 4.6 mm, 5^m particle size, using buffer solution of pH 7.0 containing 0.02 M anhydrous sodium acetate: acetonitrile (60:40 v/v) as the mobile phase at a flow rate of 1.5 mL/min, injection volume 20 ^L and UV detection at 254 nm. The total run time is 5.0 min.Linear relationships are obtained in the ranges of 100-400 μg/ mL and 5-50μg/mL for CFZ and PY, respectiv...

Protein Protein Interactions and Protein Folding as Therapeutic Targets Authored by  Eswari Beeram The process of protein folding to native protein was one of the most peculiar processes which is ravelled by many of the anti microbial agents and genetically altered cells and getting successful by introducing loss of function or gain of function mutations related to the process. Cystic fibrosis is one of the well understood diseases that are discussed here. Unfolded proteins are guided by molecular chaperones folding them in to its native state. Whereas some of the mutations lead to the generation of misfolded proteins whose study is difficult as aggregation properties in the cell differ by type of fusion proteins used .So, continuous effort is being made in this area and the results are promisive but, as most of the proteins contain un organised regions of 30 amino acids which is necessary for non specific interactions with proteins. So, as protein -protein ...

Computerized Approach towards the Standardization of Dental Dossier in the Field of Forensic Investigation Authored by  Amit Chauhan In the modern world of advancement, the revolutionary technology is waving very fast in every field. The field of criminal justice system is also influenced by this advancement of science that has made the changes in the crime detection and investigation techniques. The prior responsibility of the investigation is to convert the doubt into reasonable certainty of the suspect either guilty or the innocence which require a lot of efforts to discover the root cause of crime. Generally, the investigation ended up by the adoption of the unfair and illegal means. The intersection of law relay on the scientific evidences which can be scientifically proved. These continuous changes will flourish the scientific technology if the odonatological data could be preserved for further query. To read more... Full Text in   Annals...

Scoring the Census Priority Table for Age Heaping and Shifting: A Study of 2006 Nigeria Population Census Result Authored by  Okafor Samuel O Over the years, Nigeria had been struggling with census problems, which mainly have to do with appropriate data collection and management. This situation has drastically affected the quality of population data made available to the public and by implication, discourage sensitive research ventures which mainly rely on the census data in the country. Similarly, this has affected the structure and direction of development policies and projects in Nigeria which only sound plausible but cannot be realizable due to discrepancies between the population realities, and the assumptions on the paper (census results). This study focused on the 2006 population census result using the population priority table to statistically assess the quality of age reporting with the aid of whipple index and the sex ratio of the aged (85 years an...

Recalibration of Kainji Reservoir Operating Rule for Optimal Operation Authored by  Mohammed J Mamman Reservoir rule curves guide reservoir operations by setting target reservoir elevations throughout the year. In multipurpose reservoirs, the rule curve represents the compromise between different objectives such as flood control and water supply. This research tends to recalibrate the operation rule curves of Kainji reservoir system so as to guide the managers in their operation and to moderate the extreme events of flood and water shortage for better operational efficiency. Standard linear operation policy (SLOP) was adopted in the recalibration of the reservoir system; it is chosen based on its simplicity, its operating policy is to provide as much of the target demand as possible, used for operational studies and planning, particularly for firm yield studies. The SLOP provides a simple method of making release decisions. The reservoir elements: initial sto...

Variability Heritability and Genetic Advance of Some Groundnut Genotypes (Arachis Hypogaea L.) under Saline Sodic Soil Authored by  Omima B Haj Hussein An investigation was carried out at the demonstration farm of Soba research station for reclamation of saline and sodic soils, Khartoum, Sudan, during three successive growing seasons of (2012/13-2013/14-2014/15). The trail was conducted in a randomized block design with three replications to study genetic variability, heritability and genetic advance of yield and yield contributing characters in eight groundnut genotypes under saline sodic soil. Highly significant variations were observed for all characters under studies. High genotypic and phenotypic coefficients of variation were observed for all characters except days to 50% flowering, plant high, pod yield/ha and seed yield/ha. High heritability estimate coupled with high genetic advance were obtained with number of pod/plant, number of seed/plant, pod ...

The Impact of Multi-Instructional Approach on Biology Students' Performance in the Teaching and Learning of Men delian Genetics of Abuakwa State College, Ghana Authored by Ameyaw Y This study investigated the impact of Multi-instructional Approach (MIA) on the performance of final year biology students of Abuakwa State College in the East Akim District of the Eastern Region, Ghana. Two biology intact classes were constituted for the study in the chosen school. A pre-test and post-test non-equivalent quasi experimental design was used. The two cohorts assigned as Groups 1 and 2 with a total population of 120 were used for the study. Group '1' was the quasi-experimental group upon which the multi-instructional approach was applied in teaching Mendelian genetics, whereas Group '2', the control group was taught using the Conventional Instructional Approach (CAI). Questionnaire was also used to obtain additional backup data for the analysis. Dat...

Why Adolescents with E - Wings Sarcoma Being Reluctant to Amputation? A Study under the Phenomenological View Authored by Guru Prasanna Lakshmi This study aimed to understand the implications and feelings associated during preoperative stage, with the process of amputation. Several perspectives through review of literature has allowed the knowledge to understand the phenomenon. In this study, the testimonies of 12 adolescents of male and female at preoperative stage of amputation, suffering with E-wings Sarcoma inclusive of upper and lower limb were analyzed. The interview of the adolescents, shown various perspectives through statements, by these sharing moments understood the concept from the perception of those who is experiencing it. To read more...
